New uploads + increase in forum activity!

I checked our forum's server access log today, and was surprised: The day before yesterday was the one with the most visits since July 2009! We can see a significant increase since mid-February (wasn't that about when MrZehl joined us ?), and we had a lot more serious posts lately. That's really encouraging, and I hope that this trend won't stop.

To enforce it a bit, I want to tell you that I received a truckload full of recordings today that weren't shared here yet, and some are really interesting. Ivar still isn't able to upload anything, so he sent me some of his stuff to upload it for you! There won't be an upload every day, because some of the recordings need a lot of work (a couple of them were transferred directly from tape), and others need some research to be equipped with proper information. We're sure, you don't enjoy single-track .aiff files without tracklist, exact date and sound in only one channel  . But I'll do my best to get them all out to you in not too long time, so watch out for the new stuff – you'll get the first show today!

And don't forget to write some comments, we appreciate any kind of feedback. In fact, a good discussion is the most important thing – apart from new uploads. So don't sit on your tapes/CDs/sound files but share them, and don't be too lazy to write a few words!

I'm not after a thank you. It's nice to see people being happy, but in fact I visit this forum to have fun, find new recordings and gather information about Johnny Cash. Uploading recordings without any response is neither fun, nor does it get me new recordings or interesting information. As soon as it gets a one-sided affair, it's gonna be "Auf Wiedersehen!".

I'm sure that all the other ones who have spent time and effort into this forum think the same (maybe in other languages ).

So you have a job with constant access to an internet connection, not enough time for a dog (cats don't need as much attention, I know because I have both a dog and 2 cats), your wife is fed up with your demanding main job and the other jobs you must do because your main job doesn't pay enough ... wait ... hey, you work in an advertising agency, like me!

Oh, I forgot: About that ADHD – it's not a disease, it's a side effect of working in an ad agency. They force you to do several things at the same time and you have to be faster than light with your work – especially if you lost time because you spent it at this forum.

Advertising agency? No, but that would be a nice job. I actually designed some concert posters in the past. That was nice to do, but it paid nothing, well... nothing... I was paid in beer.
An advertising job wouldn't do it for me, I'm not commercially gifted. Actually money doesn't interest me that much. As long I can pay my bills and have enough to eat, there is no reason to complain.
But we're now getting completely off-topic in my opinion.

No, you should thank Ivar ("LastMidnight"), they're his recordings. I just upload them for him, because my internet connection is much faster. And I will edit some some of the shows, because they are very raw – no split tracks, .aif format, only one channel etc. That's why it will take some time to upload them all.
